The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Nikolai Nankov, told journalists at the Council of Ministers on 7th of September that the government approved the allocation of BGN 100 million from the budget for road repairs.
An analysis is made to identify which sections most urgently need to be repaired this autumn, with the focus on areas with the highest traffic. A priority for the repairs is Sofia's ring road - between the section of Botevgradsko shosse and Trakia motorway, where repairs start today.
Another section to be repaired is the road to Pernik from Knyazhevo residential area to Lyulin Motorway, where full rehabilitation of the road is plannned, as well as, installment of traffic light system.
Ther repair plans also include the road between Bulgaria’s major port and Black Sea coastal city of Varna and the resort of Zlatni Pyasutsi (Golden Sands).
Work will also be done on road sections in northern Bulgaria, which need immediate repairs.
