Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers on February 17 adopted a decision assigning the coordination of the implementation of activities related to the organizational and technical preparation of the parliamentary elections to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Demographic Policy and Minister of Tourism. The elections are scheduled to be held on April 4, 2021.
The decision also includes the duties and responsibilities of other ministers involved in the preparation and conduct of elections, including the Minister of Health, taking into account the situation with the spread of COVID-19.
The Minister of Justice is assigned to issue penal decrees in cases of violations by regional governors under the Electoral Code.
