Bulgaria’s Parliament adopted at second reading amendments to the Administration Act related to the activities of inspectorates.
They envisage the structure and the minimum number of inspectorates, the order and the way of carrying out their activity and the interaction with the specialized controlling authorities to be determined by an Ordinance of the Council of Ministers.
Within five months from the entry into force of the amendments, the government has to adopt the relevant Ordinance.
It is envisaged that the inspectorates in the ministries will also carry out checks on the provision of administrative services.
The amendments introduce a definition of the term "administrative control", thus distinguishing the functions of the inspectorates under the Administration Act from those of the other controlling authorities.
