Bulgaria’s Parliament approved at second reading on December 10 an amendment to the Value-Added Tax Act, according to which the Covid-19 vaccines will not be levied with VAT in the next two years.
The zero VAT tax rate applies to medical equipment for in vitro diagnostics of Covid-19 and services directly linked to those vaccines.
The MPs also approved changes to the transitional and final provisions of the State of Emergency Act, allowing the Health Ministry to subsidise hospitals in relation to the epidemic situation.
Such subsidies can only cover the months of November and December 2020.
