The tax authorities are carrying out checks on 54 print media publishers, larger part of which have outstanding tax liabilities to the state, said the spokesperson of Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency (NRA), Rossen Bachvarov, on 4th of August.
He highlighted that an additional risk analysis was taking place and it was possible NRA to extend the scope of the checks to electronic media too.
Bachvarov specified that the checks were undertaken as a result of analysis made in June and were not a form of repression.
