The caretaker cabinet on September 18 approved changes to the programme for compensation of business clients for high prices at the ectricity exchange. This was announced after the meeting of the Council of Ministers by caretaker Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov.
The programme was approved by the government in late July after a decision of the Parliament. The MPs tasked the cabinet to adopt a progarmme to compensate businesses and over 633,000 non-household consumers are expected to receive support. Compensation is to be paid when the average monthly electricity price exceeds 180 BGN per megawatt-hour. It does not matter whether the company is making a profit or a loss.
All non-household consumers without exception will also be entitled, the energy minister explained.
