CEZ Distribution Bulgaria AD started a project for replacement of 110 kV of cable in Sofia and a partial reconstruction of two substations, CEZ company said on 19th of August. The project costs 2,3 million BGN and is part of the 10 year programme of the company for modernization of the electricity distribution network in Sofia.
CEZ will replace 2,250 m of cable which provides the electricity supply of 75,000 customers in the residential areas of Lyulin, Nadezhda, ilinden, Krasna Polyana, Vazrazhdane, Serdika and Vrabnitsa, including government institutions, hospitals, industrial and office buildings, tram and trolleybus network of the public transport.
The change of cables and the reconstruction in the two substations will enhance the security and reliability of power supply service, will reduce the number of outages and shorten the duration for their repair, the company said.
The construction and repair works will go on until the end of October 2016. Given the complexity and the scale of the project, temporary interruptions and outages in power supply may be possible in these areas.
CEZ has established the necessary arrangements to minimize inconvenience to customers and to take immediate action in case of interruptions. In the event of an emergency, the company is ready to mobilize additional emergency teams, the statement says.
