Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor’s Office pressed criminal charges on 25th of April against former deputy minister of the economy, Alexander Manolev and business person Ana Dimitrova, for alleged crime affecting the financial interests of the European Union, committed by the two of them in complicity and under the conditions of a continuous crime.
Manolev and Dimitrova are charged with submitting allegedly false information in an application for funding for a guest house in the area of Chinar Kushi, the town of Sandanski in Southern Bulgaria.
The measure for Ana Dimitrova is a bail warranty of 2,000 BGN and for Manolev is a bail of 100,000 BGN.
Evidence gathering, interviews of witnesses and appointing experts is on-going.
All other applications for projects involving EU funds by Dimitrova’s company, Agrotrade, had been requested and received from the State Fund Agriculture. The subsidies received and the data declared about them were also subject to the investigation.
