Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor, Sotir Tsatsarov, on 24th of April ordered the police to carry out an investigation into all guest houses in the country financed with European Union agricultural funds for rural development and to identify whether the guest houses were used for the intended purposes.
The check will also include all vehicles acquired using EU funds, the Prosecutor’s office said.
The Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office carried out a check in relation to media reports about alleged misappropriation of funds by Deputy Minister of Economy Aleksander Manolev affecting the financial interests of the European Union and referred to Bulgaria’s anticorruption body for an investigation into possible conflict of interest of Alexander Manolev.
