Smuggling of cigarettes has fallen to 4.4% in the fourth quarter of 2018. This shows a survey commissioned by the five largest tobacco companies in Bulgaria.
The smuggling drops by less than one percent compared to the third quarter of the year.
The presentation of the results was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov and the Ministers of Finance and Interior.
The record level of smuggling in Svilengrad remains 29%. The smuggling in Haskovo, Pernik and Pleven also remains at very high levels.
