The winter situation in the Black Sea coastal district of Varna, Northeastern Bulgaria, is complicated on January 27. In some places it is even critical.
The heavy wet snow has downed power lines which caused power outages in 13 villages in the district. Electricity supply has been restored In 9 of them.
The roads are passable in winter conditions. The road Vetrino-Sovorovo and the road near Aksakovska Panorama are closed for cleaning. There is a stranded ambulance near the village of Kumanovo. It is expected to be taken to the nearest medical institution within an hour. A hemodialysis patient is in it.
The most complicated situation remains in the municipality of Sovorovo, where a partial state of emergency is expected to be declared due to frequent failures in the electricity transmission network.
There are many stuck cars in the region of Varna, but there are no reports about stranded people. There is also a stuck bus in the area of the village of Kichevo, but the passengers have already been transported there.
Air temperature in Varna is around zero degrees, but it feels like minus 5, minus.6 degrees. The traffic in the city is normal, the roads are cleaned. Early this morning there were many fallen trees in the central part of the city. Public transport buses were running with a huge delay, which caused dissatisfaction among the people.
Due to the strong wind, the sea wave reached 3,4 points.
