The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,002 from 4,213 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 20.
The largest number of the latest cases were registered in Sofia (174); Varna (126); Plovdiv (89) and Bourgas (76).
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 191,029.
The active cases are 86,452.
Of the total, 6,640 patients are in hospitals, 542 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 1,404 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 98,026;
- 55 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 6,551.
