The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,729 from 8,475 PCR and rapid antigen tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 31.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 53; Bourgas - 72; Varna – 143; Veliko Turnovo - 47; Vidin – 28; Vratsa - 47; Gabrovo – 19; Dobrich - 42; Kardzhali - 27; Kyustendil - 34; Lovech - 36; Montana - 45; Pazardzhik - 57; Pernik - 44; Pleven - 79; Plovdiv - 139; Razgrad - 15; Rousse - 47; Silistra - 35; Sliven - 64; Smolyan – 18; Sofia district - 54; Sofia city – 314; Stara Zagora - 113; Targovishte - 19; Haskovo - 48; Shoumen - 60; Yambol - 30.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 201,220.
The active cases are 75,370.
Of the total, 4,831 patients are in hospitals, 467 of them being in intensive care.
