The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 2,042 from 6,825 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 18.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 88; Bourgas - 202; Varna – 207; Veliko Turnovo - 100; Vidin – 14; Vratsa - 79; Gabrovo – 42; Dobrich - 46; Kardzhali - 10; Kyustendil - 29; Lovech - 33; Montana - 19; Pazardzhik - 58; Pernik - 29; Pleven - 73; Plovdiv - 141; Razgrad - 20; Rousse - 69; Silistra - 11; Sliven - 75; Smolyan – 28; Sofia district - 48; Sofia city – 361; Stara Zagora - 77; Targovishte - 22; Haskovo - 76; Shoumen - 46; Yambol - 39.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 188,288.
The active cases are 88,221.
Of the total, 6,900 patients are in hospitals, 567 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 3,218 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 93,728;
- 95 medical professionals tested positive for the virus (18 doctors; 31 nurses; 16 healthcare assistants; 1 paramedic and 29 othe medical staff), bringing the total to date to 8,273;
- 143 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 6,339.
