The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 2,743 from 7,737 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 16.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 106; Bourgas - 247; Varna – 279; Veliko Turnovo - 86; Vidin – 32; Vratsa - 70; Gabrovo – 78; Dobrich - 53; Kardzhali - 34; Kyustendil - 51; Lovech - 47; Montana - 36; Pazardzhik - 69; Pernik - 58; Pleven - 132; Plovdiv - 264; Razgrad - 50; Rousse - 129; Silistra - 43; Sliven - 115; Smolyan – 22; Sofia district - 93; Sofia city – 325; Stara Zagora - 136; Targovishte - 21; Haskovo - 34; Shoumen - 67; Yambol - 66.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 184,287.
The active cases are 90,347.
Of the total, 6,997 patients are in hospitals, 582 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 2,357 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 87,935;
- 140 medical professionals tested positive for the virus (31 doctors, 51 nurses, 35 healthcare assistants, 2 paramedics and 21 other medocal staff), bringing the total to date to 8,059
- 167 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 6,005.
