The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 3,097 from 8,587 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 12.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 118; Bourgas - 300; Varna – 267; Veliko Turnovo - 98; Vidin – 26; Vratsa - 93; Gabrovo – 45; Dobrich - 56; Kardzhali - 16; Kyustendil - 120; Lovech - 62; Montana - 47; Pazardzhik - 97; Pernik - 87; Pleven - 91; Plovdiv - 336; Razgrad - 11; Rousse - 141; Silistra - 22; Sliven - 75; Smolyan – 18; Sofia district - 96; Sofia city – 476; Stara Zagora - 137; Targovishte - 22; Haskovo - 84; Shoumen - 60; Yambol - 96.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 177,665.
The active cases are 92,581.
Of the total, 7,151 patients are in hospitals, 588 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 4,290 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 79,522;
- 125 medical professionals infected (37 doctors; 49 nurses; 23 healthcare assistants; 3 paramedics and 13 other medical staff), bringing the total to date to 7,744;
- 157 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 5,562
