Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 497 new cases, positivity rate is 17%

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 497 from 2,971 tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on March 8.

215 were confirmed from PCR and 282 from antigen tests.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 260,308.

The active cases are 36,807

Of the total, 5,776 patients are in hospitals, 456 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

• 385 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 212,887;
• 1,513 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total to date to 288,631;
• 21 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 10,614.
