Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 753 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 753 from 9,871 tests (including PCR and antigen tests), data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on January 9.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 37; Bourgas - 37; Varna – 58; Veliko Turnovo - 33; Vidin – 9; Vratsa - 45; Gabrovo – 11; Dobrich - 22; Kardzhali - 33; Kyustendil - 6; Lovech - 2; Montana - 10; Pazardzhik - 31; Pernik - 17; Pleven - 33; Plovdiv - 44; Razgrad - 3; Rousse - 27; Silistra - --; Sliven - 20; Smolyan – 7; Sofia district - 18; Sofia city – 161; Stara Zagora - 33; Targovishte - 17; Haskovo - 26; Shoumen - 9; Yambol - 4.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 208,012.

The active cases are 65,912.

Of the total, 4,186 patients are in hospitals, 380 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

• 3,831 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 134,022;
• 2,238 were vaccinated, thus bringing the total vaccinations to date to 13,355;
• 61 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 8,078.
