A fund for cultural cooperation in South-East Europe will support creative projects and building the positive image of the region. The decision was taken by Council of Ministers of Culture in the South-East Europe, who met in Sofia on 17th of May.
The funding will come from national budgets, and Bulgaria will develop the rules according to which the fund will work.
During the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the countries will decide how exactly the fund will function and how much each country will pay in the form of a contribution fee.
Boil Banov, Minister of Culture: The possibility for mobility, for exchanging ideas, communicating with artists, various performances, works of art, doing them together, seeing them and travelling between our countries - the key to this is the creation of this fund. This decision is very important.
