Two new measures against the spread of Covid-19 are being introduced for the territory of Sofia, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova announced on her Facebook account on November 6.
From tomorrow, November 7, unaccompanied minors are prohibited from visiting shopping malls. This is a decision of the Sofia Operational Headquarters, which has been discussed with the managements of the large retail outlets.
"Green corridors" will be available for shoppers aged 65 and over between 10 am and 12 midday.
Some of the city’s diagnostic consulting centres (former polyclinics) will be used for examination of people who have flu-like symptoms.
This is done in order to help people who are in need of examination and to reduce pressure on the large hospitals from people who have mild symptoms and need to undergo home treatment, Fandakova said.
The directors of the diagnostic consulting centres been assigned to designation areas for clinical examinations within a week. A team of doctor, nurse or laboratory technician will perform examinations and, if necessary, perform blood tests and antigen tests. The patients must have previously talked to their personal physician (GP) in order to have a referral for the necessary tests.
As regards control, Fandakova informed that In the past week, the teams of Sofia police and the municipality inspected over 1,200 retail outlets to check compliance with rules on the wearing of protective masks and maintaining physical distancing.
Some 3,342 checks of quarantined people have been made by police teams since the beginning of the week. The intensified control for wearing masks in public transport continues. Constant control will be conducted on the lines with the most violations identified.
