On the occasion of the anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews, the National Assembly opens its doors to the public on March 11.
From 10.00 to 16.00 members of the public will be able to enter the National Assembly and see two documentary exhibitions of the State Agency "Archives" related to the fate of Bulgarian Jews - "Convicted and Saved. The Jewish Communities in Bulgaria and the Rescue of Bulgarian Jews" and "A difficult choice with great significance: the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews in 1943".
At 10.30 a.m. in the Plenary Hall of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the State Agency "Archives", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Gruev, will talk about the events that made the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews possible.
Special guests of the Parliament will be the winners of the International Literary Student Contest entitled: “He who saves one human life saves the whole universe”. They will present excerpts from their essays, with which they participated in the contest, initiated by the Centre for Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation "Alef". The contribution of the Deputy Speaker of the 25th National Assembly, Dimitar Peshev, and 42 other MPs who signed a letter against the expulsion of Jews from Bulgaria will be commemorated.
During the event, a film dedicated to Dimitar Peshev from the series "BNT presents" will be screened.
