Dry grasses and bushes are burning in the area of South Bulgarian city of Yambol on 16th of August. The fire broke out in the fishponds in Ormana area. Strong wind has increased the spread of the wildfire.
Currently, three firefighting teams are battling the blaze. A warehouse of the municipality of Yambol, where wood is stored has been affected.
No one has been injured. “Sever” (North) ring road has been temporarily closed for traffic because of the smoke.
Firefighetrs told BNT that the area of the fire was quite large.
Yambol Mayor Georgi Slavov said that the entire resource of the fire fighting department was involved in suppressing the wildfire, adding that another team is ready to assist, if required.
