A retrospective exhibition of the world famous artist of Bulgarian origin Hristo Yavashev – Christo and his wife Jeanne Claude was opened in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia on 13th of September. The exhibition is dedicated to Christo’s 80th birthday.
The initial idea of Sofia City Art Gallery, which is the host of the exhibition, was to compile and present the small number of Christo’s works owned by Bulgarian institutions, collectors and relatives in Bulgaria.
Subsequently, however, the artist himself proposed to send his collection “Prints and Objects”, compiled by him.
The visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy hundreds of prints and objects by Christo and Jeanne Claude, featuring their creative work from 1963 to present.
The Bulgarian National Television is a media partner of the project, which is organized with the financial support of Christo, Sofia Municipality and “America for Bulgaria” Foundation.
The exhibition will run until 22nd of November, 2015.
