The expansion of Bulgaria’s Chiren underground gas storage facility will start from next week, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, said on 13th of October.
The expansion project will be probably financed with European funding and will lead to greater independence if there is a gas supply crisis.
At the ceremony for the re-opening of the reconstructed gas compressor station in the town of Ihtiman, PM Borisov said that Bulgaria was actively working to ensure that everything concerning gas transportation was 100% state-owned.
