For a second day in a row frefighters continue to battle the massive which broke out in the heylofts of one of the biggest cow farms in Bulgaria. There is no risk for the residents and the animals in the area of the farm near the village of Popovitsa, South Bulgaria.
Currently, 4 teams of firefighters are on site extinguishing the fire.
Neraly 2 tonnes of fodder is burnt.
Measures have been taken to secure the area. Extinguishing lines are installed to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings. The milk processing factory, which employs 300 people from the region, works normally, despite the ongoing fire.
So far, no noxious emissions in the air have been reported, the measurements of the eco experts continue. According to the owners of the farm, the possible reasons for the fire are two - a cigarette, which was still lit when thrown or a spark from a machine that is in one of the haylofts.
