The first batch of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine will arrive before the New Year orat the beginning of 2021. Firstly, 125,000 doses of this vaccine will arrive in the country., Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov said on November 30 during the working meeting with members of the government convened by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
The vaccination plan is currently being prepared together with the Chief state Health Inspector, Assoc. Prof. Kunchev, the Minister of Health said. The vaccine will be free of charge and will be provided to those who absolutely voluntarily want to get it, Angelov said.
The vaccination plan will start first with the risk groups, after which the frontline medical professionals, the elderly people from care homes, and the teachers.
During the meeting, the health minister also said that Sofia is moving off the list of districts with the highest Covid-19 morbidity - with more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 people. Only two districts remain in this group - Gabrovo and Kyustendil.
He added that the pressure on the heath care system has weakened. In Sofia, it was rather serious.
At national level, full provision of personal protective equipment, disinfectants and medicines is provided. Remdesivir medicine is available for every Bulgarian patient who may need it, he explained.
