The Ministry of Health has reported 66 cases of measles. Of these, 41 are laboratory-confirmed, the health ministry said on 5th of March.
Five districts in the country were affected by measles: Blagoevgrad - 48 patients, Sofia-city - 8 patients, Sofia-district - 8 patients, Bourgas - 1 and Plovdiv - 1.
The distribution by age group is as follows:
In the age group under 1 year - 14 cases;
In the age group 1-4 years old - 29 cases;
In the age group 5-9 years old - 9 cases;
In the age group 10-14 years old - 2 cases;
In the age group 15-19 - 4 cases;
In the age group 20-24 - 1 case;
In the age group 25-29 - 3 cases;
In the age group 35-39 - 3 cases;
In the age group over 40 - 1 case.
37 persons are without immunization against the disease. 35 are children, 16 of whom are not immunized due to unfinished immunization age; Twelve individuals have no evidence of measles immunizations.
The Ministry of Health recalls that as early as 14 February, all regional health inspections in the country ordered that all persons aged 13 months to 18 years without immunization should be traced and identified by general practitioners.
