By the beginning of October, 5 new stations of the third underground line in Sofia will be launched, linking Graf Ignatiev street and Krasno Selo residential district, Stoyan Bratoev, the executive director of Metropoliten told BNT on 12th of Februiary.
The other two sections of the line will be completed by the end of the year.
Eng. Stoyan Bratoev has expalined that inits final version, the line will serve almost 200,000 passengers daily. Some 11,000 tonnes of harmful substances less will be discharged into the atmosphere. Passengers who use the underground instead of other public transport will reduce their travel time, because the speed of the underground is 2-2.5 times higher than road transport, he added.
