Five political parties are certain to win seats in the next National Assembly and two more stand a chance of election, the results of a survey by Trend polling centre showed on February 26. The survey was commissioned by BNT and 24 Chassa daily.
Slightly less than half of Bulgarians (47%) say they will certainly exercise their right to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Those who hesitate remain just over one-fifth (21%). 23% declare that they will not vote on April 4.
Support for the GERB party is 28.9%, which has slightly increased compared to data from January and February. Its main rival, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), backed by 24.1% of voters.
TV entertainer Slavi Trifonov's party named “There is Such a People” is placed third with 12.9%, followed by the Movement of rights and Freedoms with 11.1%.
Democratic Bulgaria, a coalition of Yes Bulgaria and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria, is the fifth party certain to enter the next Parliament, backed by 6.2% of the voters.
The new party "Stand up! Mutri out! led by former ombudsperson, Maya Manolova, and IMRO party are on the verge of a parliamentary barrier and for them the election campaign will be crucial.
At the moment, the newly formed Patriotic Coalition “Volya-NFSB (2.6%) and Vazrazhdane (1.1%) remain below the barrier. The remaining parties and coalitions gainr less than 1% of those who said they would vote in the upcoming elections.
