Flu epidemic was declared on 15th of January in the districts of Stara Zagora; Bourgas; Shumen and Silsitra. The flu cases are expected to increase to epidemic levels in other areas of the country.
Most of the people with influenza are affected by the Michigan strain, which resembles the swine flu.
School classes have been cancelled in the districts of Stara Zagora, Bourgas and Silsitra from 16th to 18th of January.
Visits to patients in hospitals, prophylactic immunizations, consultations for children and pregnant women are suspended.
