In relation to media reports that the Bulgarian flag was set on fire during a carnival in the village of Vevchani in the Republic of North Macedonia, on January 14, Bulhgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ekaterina Zaharieva, ordered the Bulgarian Ambassador to Skopje, Angel Angelov, to express to the government of the Republic of North Macedonia Bulgaria’s strong indignation at this act of vandalism.
Ambassador Angelov has already made a sharp oral demarche at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Foreign Ministry announced.
