FOUR POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN A CRIMINAL GROUP ASSISTING MIGRANT TRAFFICKERS

Four police officers from the district police directorate in Sofia were detained on 29th of July on suspicions for involvement in an organized criminal group and taking bribes to assist traffickers of irregular migrants.

The Head of Internal Security of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior, Roumen Ganev, said that the main purpose, for which the police officers took “toll fees”, was for transporting migrants From Sofia to Dragoman.
