Another accolade for Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov and Bulgarian literature.
His novel 'Death and the Gardener' has won the Swedish International Literary Prize. Gospodinov himself announced the news on Facebook.
“It happened!” the writer posted, noting that every Swedish newspaper, without exception, had reported that a Bulgarian book had won Stockholm’s major literary prize that morning.
In his post, Gospodinov added: “There is news like this in the foreign press, too.” The award ceremony will take place in Stockholm on 19 January.
