GERB and Nikola Petkov party signed agreement for political partnership

GERB and Nikola Petkov political party on 16^th of April signed a political partnership agreement to support GERB's list of candidates for the upcoming European Parliament elections.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov called for uniting against the "creeping dictatorship", “which GERB's opponents want to impose”, he said. Their goals are poorly concealed and their brutal actions are publicly visible, Borissov added. He noted that for the next local elections, GERB plan on having joint lists for municipal councillor candidates with parties that are smaller, but influential on the local level.

Nikola Petkov party recalled that the co-operation between the two formations dates back to the European elections in 2007.

Ventsislav Varbanov, Nikola Petkov party: We think this is the most balanced list, with the people who protect our interests in the EP. We very much hope that all other democratically-oriented structures, which are still hesitant in which direction to go, will support the GERB list.

GERB will run in coalition with the small right-wing Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) for the upcoming elections. UDF received two seats on the list, one of which is considered optional. GERB also signed a support agreement with the United Agrarians.

GERB announced the future signing of partnership agreements with Gergyovden movemebt, the Bulgarian Democratic Forum and the Union of Bulgarians Repressed by the Communist Regime.
