MPs from GERB in the coastal city of Varna , Pavel Hristov, Krasen Kralev and Branimir Balachev said on August 2 that the machine vote threatens the fairness of the elections and will therefore insist on guarantees from the President that the vote in October will be fair and transparent.
They will insist on an inspection of the voting machines and their software, that will be used in Varna constituency. They will propose to the GERB leadership that the inspection should cover all machines.
The MPs also said that they expect the Varna district governor, Blahomir Kotsev, to be replaced as soon as possible. In the meantime, they asked him, while he is still in office, to issue an order banning the traffic of cars in the Sea Garden and, in particular, the entry and parking next to the restaurant complex owned by his family. The Governor's position, made public earlier, was that it is not within his powers to issue such an order.
