The severe winter conditions in North-Eastern Bulgaria on 6th of January caused electric power cuts in many villages in the municipalities of Avren, Dalgopol, Suvorovo and Devnya.
Hemus motorway has been closed for traffic between Shumen and Varna, as well as all roads in the district of Varna.
All flights at Varna airport have been cancelled. Varna port is closed. Wind gusts at places reach 24 m/s, causing snowdrifts, which further hinders the work of snow ploughing machines.
Most severe is the situation in Valchi Dol municipality, Varna district. Cars got stuck, but were soon pulled from the snow by machine of the road management service.
Civil protection teams are working to remove fallen trees. Many villages remain cut off from electricity supply.
All roads in the district of Dobrich are closed for traffic. Many villages experience power outage. There are no blocked people or cars stuck in the snow. 24 machines are cleaning the roads from snow.
