The Health Ministry will allocate BGN 300,000 of financial support to the hospital in Vratsa. The health minister Nikolai Petrov said on 10th of October. Later today, Deputy Minister Lydia Neycheva will meet with the management of the hospital.
The Health Ministry has already paid the emergency subsidy to the hospital in Vratsa, which for two months is BGN 50-100,000.
The minister said he would continue to replace directors of hospitals with large debts.
Prof. Petrov said that measures would be taken in hospitals where infringements, objective and subjective reasons for these large debts were identified. For example, the manager of the hospital in Lovech has been replaced, he added.
The minister admitted that there were other hospitals with similar problems and explained that tailored approach for resolving the financial difficulties in each of them would be applied. The medical union believes that problems will get worse if funding for clinical paths does not increase. They propose to review the status of the health care facilities.
