HOTTEST DAY IN BULGARIA SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SUMMER

The heatwave which has lasted for almost a week in Bulgaria reached its peak on 30th of July with temperatures hitting 40 degrees at places.

Southwestern Bulgaria has seen the hottest temperatures, soaring to 39 degrees in the town of Blagoevgrad and 40 degrees in Sandanski.

Movement of heavy lorries on the main road E-79 has been banned to prevent roads from being damaged.

Flexible working hours and work plans are introduced for workers on building sites.
