Main Sofia–Varna Road Temporarily Closed After Crash Near the Village of Momin Sbor, Veliko Tarnovo District

The main Sofia–Varna road has been temporarily closed to traffic due to a crash near the turn-off for the village of Momin Sbor, Veliko Tarnovo district, the press centre of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Veliko Tarnovo reported on August 6.

At around 15:30, two cars collided. According to initial information, the impact caused the engine compartment of one of the vehicles to catch fire, but the blaze was subsequently extinguished. Two children who were travelling in the other vehicle were taken to the Emergency Department in Veliko Tarnovo for medical examination. Initial reports indicate that they did not suffer serious injuries.

Police teams are redirecting vehicles travelling in this direction along a diversion route through the village of Momin Sbor.
