A 67-year-old man has died in a fire in the town of Dolni Chiflik (Northeastern Bulgaria, near Varna) during the night. The emergency call was received at around 02:15 on January 21.
The fire broke out in an outbuilding and quickly spread to the part of the property where the owner was living.
Despite the rapid response of the fire fighting services, the man was unable to escape and died in the blaze.
An investigation has been launched into the incident, and pre-trial proceedings are under way.
