Medical workers from Sofia children’s hospital protest again

For less than a week, this is the second protest staged by the medicals workers in the children’s hospital in Sofia, which is the only hospital specialised in treating kids.

Parents of children who are patients in the hospital also joined the protest on 23^rd of April in support of the doctors and nurses. The medics continue to insist for the provision of a special status for the hospital and dropping the limits for admissions. They also demand solutions to the issue with the low salaries and inadequate staffing levels.

The Ministry of Health has already promised additional funding, but said the new status of the healthcare facility could become a reality in 2 years when it will become part of the future National Children's Hospital.

Dr. Adil Kadum: On 10 May, the protest will be a little different. Geshov Boulevard will be closed to traffic and we hope this will be the only protest of such kind.
