Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior will undertake urgent organizational and legislative measures for safer and more responsible driving behaviour, said the Head of Traffic Police, Boyko Ranovski on 14th of August.
According to the statistics for the first 7 months of the year, 3,994 road accidents occurred, in which 368 people died, including 17 children, and 604 were injured.
The main causes of death and injuries on the roads are speeding, drink driving, unlicensed driving, and incorrect driving maneuvers.
Shortening the time between the offence and the imposition of the sanction to the driver is a way to enhance the preventive effect of the sanction and influence the driving behaviour, Ranovski explained.
