A monument to the Cyrillic writing will be erected in Antarctica near the Bulgarian base. The initiative is Bulgarian-Mongolian and is supported by the Mongolian Ambassador to Sofia, Lkhamsuren Dugerjav.
The monument will be erected in 2017 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Bulgarian Antarctic expedition.
The monument is nearly ready. It is 2.3 m high and weighs 100 kg.
The creators of the monument say that the transportation of the monument will be a complex undertaking because there is no direct transport to there.
