MP Dimitar Avramov taken to court for alleged trade in influence

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office on 16^th of April filed an indictment with the Specialised Criminal Court against the MRF MP Dimitar Avramov.

He, along with two auxiliaries, were taken to court for allged trade in influence carried out under the conditions of a continuing crime.

The investigation found that between July 6th and July 17th, 2012, in Byala Slatina, Pleven, Montana and in the "Tirovets" area in the Montana area, Avramov, in cooperation with helpers, requested from a businessman the sum of BGN 220,000 and right to use farmland owned and leased by a businessman's firm.

The MP has taken 100,000 BGN to exert influence on the director of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture in Montana to revoke an order for an official distribution of the land use in the land of the village of Stubel, to issue an order for entry into possession of the businessman's company in land in the village and to conclude agreement on the use of agricultural land.

The gift and benefit were requested in order to also influence the Chief of the regional Ministry of Interiror in Montana in connection with his service and in the exercise of his powers - to provide police protection on the piece of land during harvesting rapeseed.

The Specialised Criminal Court is about to schedule a hearing on the case.

Dimitar Avramov was elected with the list of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms in the constituency of Montana. He is a member of the Committees for fighting the gray economy and smuggling and for European issues and EU funds.
