The MPs on 29th of March voted to accept the resignation of the chairperson of GERB’’s Parliamentary Group, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, thereby terminating his powers as an MP.
The resignation was voted in Tsvetanov's absence from the plenary hall. 121 MPs voted in favour, 7 were against, and 3 abstained.
Tsvetanov deprted from Parliament after his name was involved in a property deals scandal about an acquisition of a luxury apartment in the capital at a price much lower than the market price.
However, Tsvetanov retains his post as deputy chair of in the party and remains at the head of the pre-election headquarters.
The 27 year-old Georgi Nedev from Veliko Tarnovo will replace Tsvetanov as an MP in Parliament.
The chair of the Healthcare Committee Dr. Daniela Daritkova becomes the chair of GERB parliamentary group. It is still not known who will replace Tsvetanov in the committees he takes part in.
