The MPs on January 28 conclusively adopted the amendments to the Law on the State of Emergency. The texts provide for people under medical quarantine or in hospital to be able to vote in a mobile ballot box.
They will have to declare their wish to vote in this way no later than three days before the election day. Each application will be checked by the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI). The MPs also decided that each polling station election commission can be composed of at least three members, regardless of whether it is in Bulgaria or abroad.
It would also be possible to vote with an expired ID card.
Parliament also agreed that parties should be able to campaign in strict compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
Today, the MPs assigned the Minister of Health and the Chief State Health Inspector to determine the anti-epidemic rules for the election process.
The Central Election Commission is responsible to determine the organisation in accordance with these measures.
