Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov is not in conflict of interest, Bulgaria’s anti-corruption commission concluded.
The investigation into the living arrangements of Bulgaria’s Finance Minister began after media reports that Goranov lives in a luxury residential building in an apartment made available to him free of charge by his godfather Ivan Sariev, who is a Bulgarian businessman.
A signal was also filed with the anti-corruption and asset forfeiture commission. The investigation found that, in his capacity as Minister, Vladislav Goranov, did not award any public procurement contracts to Sariev or those related to him and his business associates.
