A serious road accident closed Bourgas-Aytos road in Southeastern Bulgaria. The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on April 16.
The collision was between a lorry and two cars. The lorry was travelling in the direction of Aytos, when it departed the lane, entered the wrong-way traffic and hit the two cars.
A 58-year-old woman died in the accident and four other people were injured. Among them is the driver of the lorry. The injured were removed from the cars with the help of fire-fighting equipment.
According to initial information, punched tyre of the lorry caused its entering the wrong lane and thus causing the accident.
Blood samples for alcohol were taken from all drivers. The results are not ready yet.
The investigation into the causes of the serious accident continues.
