The outgoing Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, criticized Slavi Trifonov's party and called for the nominations for ministers to be presented, not just their candidate for Prime Minister. According to Borissov, due to political instability, Bulgaria will delay the absorption of European funds for recovery after the coronavirus crisis.
On April 26, Borissov brought together part of his cabinet and experts to present the recovery and sustainability plan. Borissov criticized his political opponents and called on Stanislav Trifonov's party to nominate its ministers, not just Prime Minister-designate Antoaneta Stefanova.
The outgoing Prime Minister announced online that Bulgaria was wasting valuable time because of the refusal to form a government after the elections.
"They have a chance to form a government immediately and their ministers to continue correspondence with the EC. Nobody makes them run away from responsibility. That's what a political coward is called. A coward is someone who, with 165 MPs who have expressed their support, says that they are not enough for him and he needs 240,” he said.
Borissov once again offered support from his own GERB group to his opponents to vote a government into office..
"Because the people are dearer to us than anything, we give them once again, albeit unsolicited help," Borissov said.
The parameters of the recovery plan were presented by the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, who announced that in addition to direct assistance to business, the plan provides support for innovation and education.
The plan is being considered in the National Assembly.
