Panic buttons will be fitted in 400 new ambulances of the emergency medical services in the country. The plan is to improve safety and allow quick response in the events of attack on medical teams, Bulgaria’s Minister of Health said on 28th of January.
He said that after the most recent act of violence against doctors and medical staff from the mergency team in the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa, he ordered 24-hour physical security there.
He added that all reports for attacks on medics have been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
He also noted that an emergency aid modernisation project envisages 237 centres and subsidiaries in the country. Paramedics will work there.
The National Health Information System will be ready at the beginning of next year at the latest, the health minister said, explaining that appeals to some public procurements have delayed the implementation of the system.
